Privacy & cookies

In short: we use no cookies. No tracking, no ads, no Google or Facebook scripts. Everything we store is your own settings, on your own device.

Cookies

Teslawaze uses no cookies at all. Not ours, not third-party — open your browser's dev tools and you'll find the cookie list empty. That's why there is no cookie-consent popup here: there is nothing to consent to.

Instead we use the browser's local storage (localStorage) — only for functional settings you choose yourself. This information is never sent to our servers or anyone else's; it exists purely so the app remembers your choices.

So you can't vote twice on the same report; enables report submission and abuse protection. The session is anonymous — no name, e-mail or phoneUntil you clear browser data
This notice's acknowledgementSo we don't show the privacy bar every timeUntil you clear browser data

You can delete all of it yourself at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser. The app keeps working — it simply returns to defaults.

GPS & location

Your location is used by the browser on your device — for map following, camera alerts and navigation. Coordinates are sent to our server only when a specific request needs them (e.g. fetching the road speed limit, a weather forecast or calculating a route) — and are never linked to any identity.

Visitor statistics & server logs

Statistics are counted purely server-side, with zero code in your browser: a visitor is that day's anonymous digital fingerprint, the IP address is not stored, and the fingerprint changes daily, so you cannot be traced across days. All we see is "how many people opened the map today".

Technical logs (standard server records: IP, time, request) are used only for keeping the service running and protecting it from abuse.

Third parties

Your browser directly reaches only these services (like any web server, they can see your IP address — but none of them use cookies):

Everything else — Waze reports, EV stations, routing, weather, address search — goes through our server: your browser never contacts those services and your IP is not revealed to them.

Tesla account (optional)

If you choose to link your Tesla account for the battery preconditioning feature — the access tokens are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and stored only on our server, never in your browser. We read no location, mileage or telemetry; we use a single navigation command. You can unlink at any time in the settings — the tokens are deleted immediately.

More details on the battery preconditioning page.

Your rights

Since we have no accounts and store no personal data, most GDPR requests resolve simply: everything stored, you can delete yourself — by clearing the site's data in your browser, and the Tesla link — by unlinking in the settings.
